About the Role

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Control System Engineer to work on multiple renewable energy construction projects. Reporting to our Electrical Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the overall concept design for control systems as per the project specifications. In addition, some of your key responsibilities will include;

• Preparation of conceptual design and front-end engineering design for control systems.
• Provide technical design input to the substation/PV solar farm control system design including Wind, Solar and other.
• Work together with subcontractors, internal and external stakeholder including NSP and client to meet project requirements.
• Engaging contractors to supply SCADA equipment based on contractual requirement.
• Oversee PLC, RTU, HMI and SCADA programming.
• Execute commissioning of SCADA system to validate the control system functionality and ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
• Participate in the development and implementation of standards and best practices for control system engineering in renewable energy industry and grid operating security.
• Preparing commissioning schedule and procedure.
• Preparing commissioning management plans.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following; 

• Knowledge of SCADA system, preferably PV solar farm.
• Understanding of AEMO and NSPs operational data point/ SCADA list.
• Experience in PLC & SCADA development (Inaccess/Schneider/Ignition/Geo SCADA or similar) in renewables or similar like lead automation/industrial/infrastructure projects.
• Experience with industrial communication protocol (Profibus/Profinet, EGD, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
• Commissioning (FAST/SAT testing) experience preferably in HV/MV substation with SEL RTU/RTAC, Inverters, Trackers or other systems in similar environment.
• Experience in developing and/or reviewing various engineering deliverables from subcontractors.
