About the Role

Due to our continued growth, Monford has a new opportunity for an experienced Contract Specialist to join our Commercial team in Perth headoffice. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will be responsible for the review and negotiation of contracts whilst providing sound, commercially pragmatic and timely legal advice in relation to legal aspects of organisational business lines and commercial arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detailed understanding of contractual and legislative interpretation with practical, commercial advice on its application to the business and projects.
  • Review tender documents and perform contract risk assessments.
  • Proactively manage and compile commercial claims, disputes and EOT’s
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Management of multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring alignment with business policies.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following attributes; 

  • Tertiary qualified in law and current practicing certificate.
  • 15+ years’ experience in either private practice or an in-house legal role.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract review and negotiation.
  • Excellent time and stakeholder management, with ownership of deadlines and the ability to manage both priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience in the construction or resources sector highly advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
