We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and agile Learning & Development Specialist to join our People and Culture team. The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development, delivery, and coordination of effective learning activities for Operations and other Melbourne Airport team members. The role ensures compliance of team members to relevant legislation, industry standards, reporting and procedural requirements across the Airfield, Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), and/or Terminals, and wider Melbourne Airport team. The Learning & Development Specialist will be working collaboratively to align delivered learning to Learning & Capability standards

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct L&C programs in support of Operations and other Melbourne Airport team members
  • Plan, develop, implement and manage technical learning programs, including relevant learning materials, support documentation, and records
  • Conduct regular competency assessments to ensure Operations team members continue to meet operating standards and role requirements
  • Ensure all learning activities align with documented Standard Operating Procedures and/or CASA Standards
  • Report on training compliance and ensure it is considered in action planning and improvement initiatives
  • Apply a competency/auditing framework to review the efficacy of authorized contracted and third-party learning providers
  • Plan, prepare, and review internal training plans for new team member induction and recurrence activities
  • Facilitate F2F and/or online learning programs to enhance learning and knowledge retention for a broad range of learners with different needs
  • Collaborate with L&C team members to design and/or develop operational and/or enterprise learning solutions as required
  • Participate in safety/procedural/CASA audits when requested, and respond to findings when appropriate
  • Conducts all work in a safe and sustainable manner and identify/follow safe work practices.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable relevant work experience within the Aviation sector relating to learning, compliance and auditing principles
  • Knowledge and previous application of relevant regulatory and statutory obligations relating to aviation, safety and security
  • Experience facilitating classroom or on-the-job training/programs
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (i.e. Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment) preferred
  • Exception communication skills.
