We currently have two exciting new opportunities for proactive and curious Finance Analysts to join either our Engineering and Asset Management team or our Ground Transport, Property and Retail team.

As a Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in providing financial support to the business units in all aspects of budgeting, financial analysis and reporting. The role will report to the Finance Business Partner of each business unit and will collaborate closely with project managers and commercial teams to drive financial insights, forecasting, and performance analysis across diverse and dynamic portfolios.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Results, Forecasting & Reporting:

  • Support the month end process with timelines and processes
  • Complete expense and revenue reviews and variance analysis, ensuring items are recognised accurately and in a timely manner
  • Review results with management teams ensuring the implications of the results on full year outcomes are understood.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and variance analysis for key stakeholders. 
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term plans for both capital projects and operational expenditure 

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making. 
  • Support financial modeling for asset management related projects and commercial decision-making. 
  • Respond promptly to stakeholder queries providing well-judged and commercially relevant recommendations and analysis. 

Financial Control & Governance:

  • Assist in maintaining financial governance across the Engineering and Asset Management division  
  • Support compliance with internal processes, reporting standards, and audit requirements. 

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support:

  • Collaborate with project managers, asset owners, and commercial teams to deliver financial insights and recommendations. 
  • Communicate financial outcomes in a clear, business-friendly manner to non-financial stakeholders. 

Continuous Improvement & Process Development:

  • Contribute to the enhancement of financial models, reporting tools, and processes to drive efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Support the adoption of new technologies and ways of working across the Finance and Engineering teams. 

Project and Capital Investment Support:

  • Provide financial modelling, analysis, and commercial advice to support business cases and capital project approvals. 
  • Monitor project financial performance and ensure alignment with approved budgets and funding. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a financial analyst, management accounting, or business partnering role 
  • Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills 
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights to non-financial stakeholders 
  • Advanced Excel skills; exposure to ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) advantageous 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment  
  • Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving mindset 
  • Experience supporting large capital projects or asset management functions desirable but not essential 
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline desirable but not essential 
  • CA/CPA qualification or progress towards completion desirable but not essential
