We are currently seeking a Strategy Manager to join a team of experienced strategy professionals. This team develops and implements Melbourne Airport’s corporate strategy, strategic priorities and supports effective decision making for both internal and external stakeholders.

As a Strategy Manager, you will:

  • Be regarded as a go-to problem solver, able to deliver strategic insights and support effective decision making
  • Act as a commercial advisor across the Airport’s business units, developing a common understanding on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of business priorities
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of projects which inform strategic decisions at both an enterprise and Business Unit level. This includes:
  • Applying structured problem-solving approaches
  • Developing storyboards and compelling narratives
  • Devising and undertaking high-quality research and analysis
  • Effectively communicating conclusions to stakeholders
  • Lead project teams working with both strategy team members, business subject matter experts, and external consultants (across aviation and non-aeronautical business units)
  • Play a leading role in the annual corporate planning process including preparation for Board strategy days and executive materials
  • Interact with, and influence, a broad range of Airport stakeholders including the executive team and board

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an individual with a strong Strategy consulting background, well developed problem solving, technical and project leadership, with demonstrated experience in driving high quality project outcomes. You will bring the following experience and skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in a strategy / consulting environment; and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role for a large corporate organisation
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, engineering or a related discipline
  • Industry sector experience in aviation, commercial property, retail, capital-intensive businesses highly regarded
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and cross functional stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience working with senior leadership and external advisors
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members in a complex environment
  • Disciplined and well-developed project management skills, including taking the lead on complex projects
  • High level of ability with data analysis, interrogation, insight generation and visualisation including advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to present findings in an accurate, compelling, and succinct manner
