We currently have a 12 Month fixed term contract opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join our Intergrated Captial and Safety team.

Reporting to the Senior Safety Manager, the Senior Safety Advisor will monitor OHS performance and recommend priorities and actions for improvement within APAM. The role ensures appropriate safety support is in place and coach Managers in effective safety management.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the implementation and monitoring of the APAC Safety Management Standard across APAM.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Safety to ensure APAC responsibilities under Victorian and Commonwealth OHS legislation are fulfilled.
  • Manage the audit and assurance program for APAM across all Business Units.
  • Provide safety leadership to the OHS Coordinators.
  • Ensure appropriate safety support is in place and coach Managers in effective safety management.
  • Recommend priorities and actions for improvement.
  • Manage the APAM OHS auditing program (internal and external).
  • Collate and compile safety data.
  • Ensure incidents are reported and investigated.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in an OHS role in a high-risk environment
  • Proven ability in embedding Safety in Design principles in the planning stages of construction and/or development projects
  • Excellent working knowledge of OHS legislation
  • Advanced in applying OHS legislation to workplace environments
  • Proficient process management skills (safety processes)
  • Proficient understanding of project management conventions and frameworks
  • Advanced report writing skills
  • Clear communication style
