We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Manager Aviation Infrastructure to join our Aviation Services team.
The role is responsible for the development of the future aviation infrastructure plan, operating models and lead consultation with our airline partners on infrastructure need and requirements. Lead the requirements and creation of the aviation infrastructure response that supports our growth forecast, traveler experience outcomes and operational performance.
The Manager Aviation Infrastructure will lead the translation of the demand forecast into facility requirements, infrastructure and operating model responses. The role consults and collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop an integrated airport development plan. The Manager Aviation Infrastructure directs airline infrastructure requests through to concept development.
By representing the aviation business unit, you will lead and support engagement with both internal and external parties and build a strong partnership approach with our airline customers. You will champion the traveller experience and operational outcomes to ensure the right solution is delivered at the right time to meet the business need now and into the future.

Key responsibilities:
The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Infrastructure Planning and Development
- Develop and manage long-term plan/s for the development and enhancement of aviation infrastructure.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis and risk assessments.
- Contribute to and lead the aviation requirements for design through to concept development ensuring they meet, safety, quality, operational, traveler experience and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Understand the drivers and demand reasons (data driven) for the infrastructure response and be able to articulate this to stakeholders.
Operating Model
- Development of concept of operations (CONOPS) for each/all projects in the aviation infrastructure plan ensuring response is fit for purpose.
- Lead and manage the CONOPS objectives and scope through to completion of the CONCOPs artefact.
- Ensure stakeholder (internal and external) stakeholders have a common understanding on how the infrastructure is to be used effectively.
Business Lead Project Management
- Lead infrastructure response through to concept plan development including cost plan development, scheduling, sequencing and operating model during construction.
- Lead coordination with external consultants (Project Manager) to engage and manage consultancy team (Architects, Engineers, etc.)
Partner Engagement
- Lead engagement with airlines (local and head office) on their infrastructure needs to support business objectives.
- Represent aviation and airline needs and requirements (supported by CONOPs)
- Consult and collaborate with internal stakeholders. Understand their needs, business objectives and drivers.
- Liaise with government agencies, community representatives, contractors representatives to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Innovation and Best Practices
- Stay informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in aviation operations, infrastructure and experience.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in process improvement to enhance infrastructure efficiency and effectiveness.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Lead by demonstrating the right behaviours and influencing internal and external team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelors degree in Airport Planning, Civil Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in airport planning, infrastructure development or a related field.
- At least 3 years experience in managerial or leadership role.
- Management experience in a dynamic and operations heavy environment (e.g. airline, airport operations, aviation consultancy and/or logistics) serving a complex customer base and stakeholders
- Proven experience supporting business growth by leading strategic aviation infrastructure plan creation
- Proven experience in managing large and complex projects including infrastructure response rationale, cost benefit analysis, scheduling and sequencing.
- Ability to influence and shape narrative using data, intelligence, industry best practice and statistical
- Extensive knowledge of aviation industry and regulations
- Excellent communications, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proven stakeholder management and engagement.
