Join Melbourne Airport’s dynamic Public Affairs team as a Stakeholder & Partnerships Lead and take charge of our community investment strategy, driving impactful partnerships with local councils, schools, and industry partners. This newly created role will support major projects, including the third runway, and play a key part in aligning community initiatives with Melbourne Airport’s values, vision, and purpose.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Stakeholder and Partnerships, you will manage and activate community partnerships, fostering strong relationships with existing partners and identifying new opportunities. You will also ensure the successful delivery of community investment strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful programs.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Foster and activate relationships with local councils, industry partners, and stakeholders to support community initiatives.
  • Act as the primary contact for community partners, overseeing activities within the community investment strategy.
  • Manage the annual review of community investment partnerships and oversee long-term partnerships.
  • Measure the impact of the community investment strategy through the bi-annual economic and social impact report.
  • Pursue opportunities for new community outreach programs, including schools, internships, and research initiatives.
  • Provide support for major project community engagement, including the third runway.
  • Support the end-to-end partnership lifecycle, from negotiation through to relationship management.

The successful candidate will have:

You are an experienced relationship builder with a proven track record in community engagement and partnership development. You thrive in creating innovative, mutually beneficial partnerships that align with organisational values and deliver community impact.

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong experience in a similar role, particularly in community outreach, stakeholder engagement, or corporate partnerships.
  • Expertise in delivering community investment strategies and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven success in developing multi-year, high-value partnerships.
  • Good understanding of project management fundamentals.
