Lead and manage internal and external teams to set the Right Business Endorsed Capital Plan within APAM's business park.

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to join our Property team. The purpose of the role is to provide end to end development and delivery leadership, which starts with helping the business identify the right capital projects. The Program Manager will provide strong design management, have commercial rigor with smart and active in procurement, cost control and management and be focused on project delivery.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage respective project teams in delivery of allocated capital projects, and ensure teams are well engaged across key APAM business stakeholders.
  • Support the Program Director in delivery of respective capital plan and engagement with stakeholder groups – internal and external
  • Drive project teams with focus across key areas of Design Management, Procurement, Cost Control and Management and Delivery Management
  • Prepare Business Cases/ Investment Committee/ Board Submissions on allocated projects to an acceptable standard including being clear in identification of business benefit, commercial agreement, cost and schedule.
  • Lead project teams to develop project brief’s across projects lead selection of consultants from consultant panel
  • Ensure project designs have a strong focus on Customer Experience in all passenger facing designs
  • Ensure design incorporates, where appropriate, off site manufacture and other innovation that can provide benefit
  • Ensure APAM governance and reporting requirements are implemented and met across allocated projects
  • Once agreed ensure the right procurement approach is implemented for the respective projects and drive value through the procurement process with appropriate risk allocation and commercial terms
  • Ensure cost plans are aligned to ageed APAM benchmarks and cost planning standards
  • Lead project team to ensure safety is always front of mind across internal project team members and external consultants and contractors – Target Zero.
  • Lead project team to deliver a high-quality product

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree qualified in related discipline, Construction, Engineering, or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification; and/ or substantial experience
  • End to end experience in leading built environment capital projects in a 24/7 complex operational environment.
  • Experienced in leading sub-programs or projects concurrently to meet agreed timelines
  • Experiencing in leading multi-disciplinary design teams through the project lifecycle
  • Experienced in delivering Commercial Property Developments including Sunken Infrastructure
  • Strong financial management and commercial acumen.
  • Experience in construction procurement methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills need to be able to communicate at all levels internally and externally including clear and concise communications.
  • Experience in anticipating problems and proactively mitigating potential issues.
  • The ability to tailor communication methods and practices to the relevant stakeholder audience.
  • Proven ability to influence third parties (internally and externally) in a high-pressure environment.
