About the role:
As a member of the Maintenance team, the Gardener plays an integral role in the provision of general
garden maintenance ensuring that the organisations grounds and surrounds are well maintained, well
presented, physically secure and compliant with all appropriate regulations to ensure we provide a safe
environment for the Health Service and community.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide scheduled and unscheduled garden maintenance to all lawns and gardens of the health service, to maintain an exceptional standard of presentation;
- Maintain grounds including gardens, and lawns including mowing, watering, weeding, fertilising, planting and pruning. This includes clearing of external drains, ensure paved areas are clear of debris
- Ensure rubbish bins and recycling is appropriately prepared for removal or disposed of in accordance with workplace safety regulations
- Maintain documentation in relation to garden maintenance activities
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Previous work experience in a garden maintenance role
- Punctuality
- Proven ability to work well in a team
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the organisation’s values.
- Evidence of required Flu vaccinations
Desirable:
- Previous trade experience
- COVID 19 vaccination highly recommended as per ATAGI recommendations
