Midwife

About the role:
Midwives working within the Midwifery Model of Care will have the authority, responsibility and accountability for the achievement of quality care outcomes for maternity patients at MDH. It is the role of the Midwife to ensure that care is delivered in accordance with the values and beliefs of the organisation at all times. These responsibilities are delivered within a framework of continuous quality improvement.
The Midwifery Model Midwife works in a highly autonomous paradigm collaborating directly with the woman, her significant other and the woman’s General Practitioner Obstetrician.
Additionally, the Midwifery Model Midwife will work in partnership with acute ward and theatre staff and the General Practitioner anaesthetist group as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current qualifications and registration with AHPRA as either a Registered Nurse/Midwife or Registered Midwife.
- Ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients
- An ability to provide clear patient education and instruction
- Sound computer literacy and documentation skills

Mansfield District Hospital (MDH) is located in Victoria’s scenic high country, at the foot of Mount Buller and on the shores of Lake Eildon, only two hours from Melbourne.
