About the role
As our Supplyhaus Façade Estimator you will provide budgets, cost plans and estimates on projects up to $10m. You will build genuine relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve optimal commercial outcomes. As the preferred candidate you will:
- Conduct estimating processes meticulously to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
- Develop bid programs and ensure clear communication of time frames to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to leverage subcontractor relationships and obtain competitive pricing while delivering quality outcomes
- Prioritise quality in all aspects of work, ensuring the delivery of defect-free products that exceed client expectations.
- Understand client needs and develop specialised solutions aligned with their success factors.
- Analyse bid scopes, foresee risks, and develop strategies to address them effectively.
- Engage in Value Engineering to maximize profitability while meeting client needs.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and avoid rushed outcomes.
About you
- Experience in estimating external commercial windows and doors, including high-rise residential systems.
- Understands the various methods of calculating façade design wind pressure calculation including AS1170.2 and how these pressures impact the selection of appropriate glazing system through the requirements of AS2047 & AS4284.
- Understanding of NCC section J’s performance requirements and verification methods as well as a glazing systems thermal performance to select the most commercially advantageous combinations of framing and glass types are selected for each project.
- Have a solid understanding of how glazing systems perform acoustically. Have experience interpreting acoustic design briefs in how they impact glazing systems including how to pair the most commercially advantageous glass type for a glazing system to meet the brief.
- Have the ability to estimate and extrapolate a glazing systems performance for thermal, acoustic & wind pressure where specific test reports/calculations are not available.
- Proven commercial acumen and strategic thinking ability.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and foster a collaborative environment.
- Substantial experience in the glazing industry and strong industry relationships
- Understanding of curtain wall systems (desirable)
