About the role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an HR Advisor to join our team. This role will be based in our Brisbane office but will be required to travel to our other office locations (including interstate) and project sites to support where required.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with business leaders to support, guide and coach them. We are a construction company, so you need to be (or be able to get) comfortable on a construction site and be adaptable to meet the needs of a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities will include (but are certainly not limited to):
- Help create and foster a high performing workplace culture that attracts and retains talented employees.
- Challenge and contribute to business decisions to optimise the workforce.
- Partner with leaders to meet business requirements around strategy, resourcing, capability, and performance.
- Provide advice supporting both employees and leadership teams.
- Support leaders with project resource/workforce planning.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of HR documentation, including policies, procedures and forms.
- Assist in the development of plans and strategies for employee retention and recognition.
- Assist in the identification and coordination of training requirements.
- Support the delivery of key HR projects and plans in conjunction with the broader HR team.
- Build strong and effective working relationships with all levels of the business.
About you
We want someone who is passionate about people and performance and has the runs on the board to demonstrate that your passion translates into action.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous HR generalist knowledge and experience, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, or equivalent.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a large HR team aligning strategies to overall business growth.
- We are seeking someone who can play in the grey areas of HR frameworks to help create operational outcomes that align with our business values.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully build relationships with people at all levels within the organisation.
- Ideal candidates will have a natural coaching style, honed through experience in businesses where HR enables leaders to drive results in an operationally focused environment.
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian employment legislation.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, along with a solution focused mindset.
- Be willing to travel to on a regular basis to other office and construction site locations, including interstate.
