About the role
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Supplyhaus Steel team as we expand and grow. This role works very closely with our Contracts Administrator’s and Project Manager’s to support the successful execution of projects. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in our growing business while coordinating steel projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will gain valuable knowledge across contract management, procurement, financial management, material and installation coordination.
This role will see you undertake the following responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and administering Head Contract documentation and managing the tender procurement process.
- Support the development of scoping documents, issuing tender packages, reviewing submissions, and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure the effective management of subcontracts, variations, claims, and payment schedules to meet project needs and maintain cash flow.
- Assisting with payment claims, variations and supporting contract documentation.
- Assist the Contract Administrator in developing cashflow reports, managing subcontractor invoicing, and ensuring financial forecasts are aligned with project goals.
- Maintain and track project costs using software such as Jobpac, including budget entry, commitments, and payments.
- Manage drawings and document control to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Regularly communicate with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to discuss project status, challenges, solutions, and impacts
- Collaborate with the steel technical team to continuously improve the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and ensure project quality standards are met.
- Communicate with and educate subcontractors and suppliers on HSERQ requirements including SWMS
About you
We are seeking someone who is eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment while having fun and contributing to team morale. In addition, we are seeking the following:
- Previous experience in a similar role with a Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar (or working towards) would be advantageous
- Sound understanding of building legislation, e.g. the payments act (BIFSOPA Act)
- Proven ability to draft contracts and manage cost control systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous experience using Jobpac and Procore would be well regarded
