About the role:

The Family Volunteer Practitioner will coordinate a service system delivery to clients 0-18 years and their families using a combination of brokerage and Volunteers.

The program sits in the Western Region Parenting Service (WRPS). WRPS is a child-focused and family centred service and delivers services like Carer Support groups, Parenting Programs, Multicultural Playgroups, and Disability Services.

 

This is a Fixed Term, 30.4 hours per week - 0.8 EFT until 25/7/25 opportunity based in Footscray, VIC within our Western Region Parenting Service. The position reports to the Western Region Parenting Service Coordinator.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology or similar.
  • Experience conducting assessments covering health, function, social and environmental issues with families with a disability or complex needs.
  • An understanding or willingness to learn how to support a client or family with a disability and complex needs.
  • An understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Additionally, an understanding of Disability and Disability related supports and services.
  • Highly motivated and ability to work autonomously and flexibly.

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
