MacKillop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School that comprises of three school campuses; Geelong, Maidstone and Caulfield. It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKilllop have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students and this can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours. 

Full-time position commencing 28 January 2025!

As our Education and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will play an essential role in implementing a trauma-informed model of education that promotes unconditional positive regard for every student with complex and diverse needs. Your ability to work collaboratively with educators and leaders is required to ensure all practices and procedures reflect the vision, mission, and values of MacKillop. You will be able to effectively demonstrate leaderships qualities and skills to provide expert educational advice and wellbeing support for the Maidstone team and education leaders.

To be successful in this role:

  •  A four-year teaching qualification or equivalent and Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  •  Understanding of and experience in implementing highly engaging and aspirational education programs for students at risk; in-line with the appropriate curriculum framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement curriculum and education programs to meet the needs of students with complex needs; including an understanding of the impact of trauma and its effect on the capacity of young people to engage with education and learning.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check
