McAuley Community Services for Women helps women and children who have faced family violence and homelessness to take control of their lives. Through a range of supports including accommodation, legal, health, recreation and social responses, we support women to leave us with restored capacity and greater opportunities for safe housing, economic capability and wellbeing. About the role

The Residential Support Worker, Family Violence provides crisis support, advocacy, and day to day support in relation to support plan goals e.g. emotional support, social inclusion and daily living skills to women and children in a supported accommodation environment. This includes participation in a solo and after-hours roster.


This is a Permanent Part-Time (22.8 -30.4 hours per week) opportunity based in Melton within our Community Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader.


Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • A genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate empathy for young people in our care in an open minded and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
