About the role:

Using a diverse range of strategies and education options that will cater for the varied learning styles of individuals, and in conjunction with providing support and guidance throughout each young person’s educational journey, the Education Officer will assist clients to achieve better quality education outcomes, assessing and recording these at regular intervals with the ultimate aim of success in their current educational setting or reintegration into an appropriate educational or vocational setting.

This is a permanent part time position (5 days a fortnight)

Primary objectives:

The role of the Education Officer is to build connections with young people and education providers to enable the successful implementation of appropriate education programs in line with MacKillop’s values and the ITTC program.

The Education Officer will develop an education plan, in alignment with the therapeutic plan, for each young person in the program. The plan will be developed in consultation with young people, significant others, school or other educational setting and be based on an assessment of educational attainment and social and emotional issues.
