This exciting opportunity is ongoing part-time, 19 hours per week, based in Geelong.

Are you dedicated to supporting Young People, knowledgeable about trauma, and driven to make a positive impact?

We are looking for a Therapeutic Specialist to join the team, who is passionate about developing therapeutic strategies and plans for each individual young person. In this role, your knowledge and skills will be utilised in guiding our staff through the implementation of strategies and your support will play a crucial part in assisting our Young People expand their strengths to facilitate healing and recovery.

You will be joining a team of seasoned experts and have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry's most knowledgeable professionals.

Desirable:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline is essential. Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family work and systemic thinking (strongly preferred).
  • Thorough understanding (based on advanced training/qualifications and a body of knowledge on recognised theoretical approaches) of the impact of trauma, disrupted attachment and abuse/neglect on a child or young person’s development and wellbeing.
  • Substantial experience in working therapeutically with young people and demonstrated capacity to persevere to achieve positive outcomes when working with young people who have experienced trauma and have complex needs and presentations.
  • Demonstrated a thorough understanding of Aboriginal and CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) cultures to provide culturally sensitive and effective care for young people in residential care.
