About the Role:
Providing a high standard of direct clinical care to residents in the residential aged care setting, including administration of medications, and to complete accurate documentation.
About you:
You are a highly organised and self-motivated individual with excellent clinical knowledge of aged care - someone who can manage their time and be flexible with their workloads. You'll have a high level of teamwork and leadership skills for in-charge shifts with colleagues and empathy and compassion too.
To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:
Essential skills and competencies:
- Diploma Nursing or Certificate with Medication Endorsement
- Leadership experience 'in charge' and teamwork with colleagues
- Work experience of at least 12 months in similar role or more in aged care
- Friendly and positive personality
- Clinical care - medication rounds, wounds care etc.
- Liaising with visiting GP's and allied health providers
- Lead and supervise as required Carers (with some personal care duties with the team where required)
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (medication endorsed)
- Computer and documentation skills
- Demonstrated practice of Hygiene and Safety practices in aged care
- Current police check
- Must have Seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination evidence.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
- A good understanding of the Aged Care Standards, accreditation and ANACC requirements
- An understanding of continuous improvement and OH&S
- Work experience of 6 months or more in aged care
