About the role

Reporting to the Home Manager, the Chef Manager oversees all kitchen and food service operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and managing the kitchen and food services team
  • Preparing and overseeing high-quality, nutritious meals aligned with residents’ dietary needs
  • Managing specialised diets, supplements, and texture-modified foods
  • Menu planning in consultation with residents and clinical teams
  • Managing food orders, stock control, and budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and aged care accreditation standards
  • Conducting audits and contributing to continuous improvement and accreditation processes

You are an organised, hands-on leader with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for aged care. You lead by example, manage people and priorities effectively, and foster a positive team culture.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Experience overseeing a fast paced, multiservice kitchen
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred)
  • Sound understanding of Aged Care Standards, accreditation, and continuous improvement
  • Proven people leadership and budget management experience
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and aged care accreditation requirements
  • Current Police Check and COVID-19 vaccinations
