Role Description
As a Project Cost Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in forecasting, tracking, and reporting costs for some of Australia’s most complex and exciting projects. With a focus on budget management and earned value metrics, you’ll work collaboratively with planners and contract administrators to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.
This FIFO role positions you at the heart of the minerals and mining sectors, where your expertise will directly contribute to project success and team excellence.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll make an impact by:
- Forecasting costs and managing budgets effectively.
- Tracking installation of commodities and updating the Quantity and Workhour Report (QWR).
- Reporting on earned value management metrics.
- Integrating with planners to align schedules with cost forecasts.
- Collaborating with contract administrators to manage project changes, inform contract variations, and assist in payment claims.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of earned value management principles.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proven site-based experience during project delivery phases.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Contractor-side project controls experience.
- Scheduling expertise.
