Reporting to the Group Manager – People & Culture, you will have the chance to build our training function from the ground up, directly influencing the growth and capabilities of our workforce. You'll be instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive training strategies, with the potential of expanding this function as our business continues to grow. As our valued Training and Development Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our people possess the skills and knowledge necessary to excel. You will be responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials, coordinating training programs, and managing our training information system. You will be a key driver in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within our organisation and ensure M2P’s continued success and growth as an industry leader.
Based in Teneriffe, you will leverage your passion for achieving results and drive continuous improvement while remaining flexible and adaptable to change. Building strong business partnerships will be a key aspect of this role, as you will serve as the primary point of contact for all training needs. Additionally, as a newly created role, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of the training function and see the tangible impact you’re making in a short period of time. And you’ll be supported by a down-to-earth team of leaders, experts and reliable, hard-working people who step up for you.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Establishing policies, procedures and processes for training, requests, approvals, and delivery, ensuring fairness, consistency and efficiency across training delivery within the organisation.
- Identifying training needs within our organisation, including gaps, where you’ll set out a plan for closing these gaps, identifying priority areas.
- Working with subject matter experts to extract information and utilise this to create and implement effective training materials and systems for delivery to our teams.
- Developing relationships with external training providers to enhance our internal training programs, utilising expert training that addresses key training needs within our business.
- Re-vamping our internal induction and training programs with comprehensive and engaging materials for new employees, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
- Overseeing and enhancing our current apprenticeship and graduate engineer programs to facilitate skill development and provide pathways for career advancement within the workforce.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Training and assessment qualifications.
- The ability to demonstrate your proven experience in the above areas.
- The ability to extract information from Subject Matter Experts and develop and deliver engaging training materials.
- Advanced computer literacy with software used to develop visually engaging and professional training materials, with an eye for detail and design.
- The skills to identify and outline the training needs of an organisation, along with gap analysis and development of a plan to address these.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information in a written and verbal format that meets the needs of the target audience.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience in video development or editing for the purpose of creating engaging training videos.
- Experience in career path planning.
- The ability to undertake some travel to our remote sites as part of information gathering and training delivery.
- Previous experience implementing an LMS.
- A strong customer focus, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; maintaining effective relationships with the customer and key stakeholders.
- The drive and motivation to be proactive and self-motivated.
