  • Full-time, permanent position

Role Description

As a Quantity Surveyor with M2P, you'll play a crucial role in managing and controlling costs across major projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget and to the highest quality. Based on a 2:1 roster, you’ll be travelling to site regularly, where you’ll assess project costs, handle variations, and provide financial insights that influence decision-making.

You will be responsible for working closely with the project management team to ensure accurate cost control, reporting, and forecasting, ensuring that projects meet financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Providing detailed cost management and analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Preparing and managing budgets, cash flows, and financial forecasts.
  • Assessing and negotiating variations and claims with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that all project expenditures are accurately tracked and recorded.
  • Preparing detailed cost reports and advising the project team on financial status.
  • Conducting regular site visits to review project progress and measure costs.

What You’ll Bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or engineering industries.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and financial management.
  • The ability to assess variations, negotiate claims, and manage contractors.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with project teams.
  • A high level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Experience working on FIFO/DIDO rosters in remote locations.
  • A background in major civil or mechanical projects.

Why M2P Engineering?

  • We work hard, and we expect plenty of each other. Our people get that because that’s how we win. And it’s how you will, too.

So, what can you expect from a career with us? Well, it’s about three things:

  • Work. The way it should be. We take pride in quality work, completed to spec and on time. Things can’t always go according to plan, of course, but we’re proud to exceed expectations and deliver on what we promise.
  • Your career. The way it should be. With so many interesting projects to get stuck into, there’s ongoing work and a stable future here. Just give it a solid go, do the job well, and we’ll look after you.
  • A real team. The way it should be. You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with an honest, reliable and respectful team. We’re mates looking after mates, and when the going gets tough, that’s when we step up for you the most.
