2D CAD Draftsperson

ADP (a Lycopodium business) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced 2D CAD Draughtsperson to join our dynamic, growing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing the schematic diagrams in accordance with the applicable Engineering Design Specifications, Industry Norms and Relevant Legislation.

The tasks you'll perform

• Create intelligent P&ID’s in Autodesk Plant 3D, Bentley Openplant, Siemens, COMOS.
• Setup and maintain link with 3D Pipe Modelling software.
• Populate equipment data in the database.
• Generate standard deliverables from the database
• Generate custom database queries and reports
• Prepare drawings for checking, squad checking and issue; per Project requirements.
• Update redlines to show As-built status of drawings.
• Ensure that drawings comply with all relevant project standards and/or ruling statutory authority applicable to assigned projects.
• Ensure that all CAD files produced strictly comply with necessary ADP Group, Draughting and CAD project procedures.
• Ensure that all files produced strictly comply with the ADP Group defined and project CAD procedures and are uploaded to the relevant folders in the Document Management System.
• Comply with all Company policies, procedures and instructions.

 The expertise you'll bring

• Certificate, diploma or degree in engineering, CAD drafting or related field.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in using object orientated database CAD software.
• Proficient in intelligent object-orientated database software and 2D CAD software(e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Siemens, COMOS, etc)
• CAD Database Configuration and Administration experience.
• South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Cape Town based
• Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.

• Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Provide mentoring and identify avenues of professional development and succession planning for personnel within your business unit.
