Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Expeditor to join our growing Project Service team in Mississauga, Ontario.
Reporting to the Procurement & Contracts Manager the Senior Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services critical to the success of mining projects. This role requires proactive coordination with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to mitigate delays, resolve issues, and maintain the project schedule.
The tasks you'll perform
- Monitor and track procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment, materials, and documentation.
- Follow up with vendors and suppliers on production progress, shipment schedules, and outstanding items.
- Identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Conduct regular progress reviews with vendors to assess their performance and compliance with project timelines.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies or bottlenecks promptly.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, logistics, engineering, and construction teams to align material delivery with project schedules.
- Ensure vendor documentation is submitted and approved as per requirements.
- Manage change orders or variations in delivery timelines due to project adjustments.
- Prepare and distribute expediting reports, including status updates, potential risks, and mitigation plans.
- Maintain detailed records of all interactions, communications, and agreements with vendors.
- Escalate unresolved issues to management as required.
The expertise you'll bring

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably in the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven track record in project-based expediting, including vendor management and logistics coordination.
