Be part of the team transforming global travel experiences!

Luxury Escapes is one of the world’s fastest-growing travel websites, with over 8 million members. We are growing rapidly & seeking a iOS Engineer to join our mobile team!

We have separate, native iOS and Android applications at Luxury Escapes. The app you'll be working on is built in Swift and Swift UI, with a focus on best-in-class native experience for our customers. Our mobile app accounts for 25% of our sales, and we're iterating rapidly to ensure that number grows!

In addition to our iOS codebase, our mobile team owns a "Backend for the Frontend" Node.js service, so we can optimise API responses for mobile. Some of our so-inclined mobile developers have learned Node.js and started contributing to this service on the job, too.

Working at Luxury Escapes

Our mission is to delight our customers with incredible deals for the world's best holidays. We are a collective of forward-thinking people, driven to challenge the travel industry and ourselves to bring outstanding travel experiences to our customer community.

Our Sydney office is on Kent Street - a short walk from Wynyard station and close to great cafes in Barangaroo.

Luxury Escapes is an in-person company, with 4 days in the office, and 1-day WFH.

About the team

Whether it's crafting elegant and clean code, building out our mobile apps or driving the architecture across our Technology teams, our cross-functional teams work together to create the best online luxury travel experience for our global customers. The structure is flat and the process lean, focusing on a culture of MVP, iteration, and "build, measure, learn", with continuous improvement at the heart of everything we do.

Employee experience is king here, with weekly events, monthly recognition programs and significant professional development opportunities. (We have won awards for it – but the HR team don’t like to brag much!)

About the role

The biggest challenge we're solving is figuring out how we go beyond just parity with our website and use mobile to provide a unique browsing experience. The "Lux Moments" feature on our home screen is one such recent effort. We're also working on a feature where users can save their travel preferences, and we'll customise their home screen accordingly.

In the future, we'd like to be able to leverage mobile to enhance the in-stay experience, with features like keyless check-in to your hotel room, digital concierge, and more.
