Luxury Escapes is one of the world’s fastest-growing travel websites, with over 6 million members. We are growing rapidly & seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our tech team!
We rebuilt our Android app from scratch, natively with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Our previous app was mostly web views, and we wanted a best-in-class native experience for our customers. We've since launched our new app (it's going great!) and are iterating rapidly. Our Android team is small, so there's an opportunity to have a big impact.
In addition to our Android codebase, our mobile team owns a "Backend for the Frontend" Node.js service, so we can optimise API responses for mobile. Some of our so-inclined mobile developers have learned Node.js and started contributing to this service on the job, too.

About the team
Our cross-functional teams include Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers focused on delivering solutions and solving problems rather than simply completing tickets. The structure is flat, and the process is lean, with a culture of MVP, iteration, and "build, measure, learn" at the heart of everything we do. We share in-depth experience in Node/ Typescript, React, PostgreSQL, AWS SQS, SNS, S3 Lambda, and more.
Our team members value engineering excellence, and as part of your role, you'll have dedicated time to focus on pushing the boundaries of engineering quality and development experience.
About the role
You will be responsible for delivering features and enhancements relating to the Luxury Escapes mobile platform. We're partway through a complete rebuild of our iOS and Android apps, so it's an exciting time to join the mobile team!
We're agile, so we have daily stand-ups, autonomous teams, and developers deploy to production many times every day.
Relevant Skills:
- Android experience (we use Kotlin and Jetpack Compose)
- Automated testing
- Attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving
