The Customs Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and requirements related to import and export activities.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures related to import and export activities.
- Prepare and submit import/export documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Classify goods according to tariff codes and customs regulations, and determine duties, taxes, and fees.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party service providers to facilitate import/export transactions.
- Review and verify import/export documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with customs authorities and government agencies to resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct audits and assessments of import/export processes and documentation to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Stay informed about changes to customs regulations and requirements, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on customs-related matters, including import/export procedures, documentation requirements, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and legal, to ensure smooth and efficient import/export operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Customs Analyst, Import/Export Coordinator, or similar role, preferably in a multinational company or customs brokerage.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and tariff classification.
- Experience with customs documentation and electronic filing systems, such as ACE, AES, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customs authorities, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office productivity tools.
