Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is a medium-sized rural health service that delivers a range of programs and services including acute, subacute, residential aged care and allied and primary health care services. KDHS has three campuses located in the townships of Kyabram, Stanhope and Tongala.

About the Role
The Primary Health program is committed to provide health care and services that meet the needs of the community. Primary Health offers a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient programs and services to the local community. As well as at KDHS we also service our outreach sites in the rural communities of Tongala and Stanhope.
The Allied Health Assistant provides support and assistance to Allied Health professionals in the delivery of health care across Primary Health services. This may include direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks. As a member of the Primary Health team, the appointee will contribute to the overall performance of the team consistent with Kyabram District Health Service Purpose and Values.
The position is responsible for contributing to the delivery of social support activities focussing on wellbeing and reablement with a consumer directed care approach. This includes developing and delivering group based activities and individualised programs to a range of older people and people with disabilities/ It also entails undertaking all associated administrative tasks.
About You
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or working towards same; or equivalent
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and seek advice from others when appropriate. Demonstrated ability to be able to take instructions from other team members including following through with tasks and report outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary team and to be effective when working independently.
- Ability to interact with clients in a caring and positive way
- Ability to work under the guidance of Allied Health professionals.
- Computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of the social, psychological and physical needs of older people, people with disabilities and their carers.
