The Opportunity: The Parts Manager – Gladstone is responsible for managing the parts department, to deliver a high level of service to our customers by supplying spare parts to the end user within a reasonable timeframe. Overseeing the team management focusing on safety, expense, freight control and customer support in line with the Komatsu customer support charter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe and efficient work environment by performing a feel safety and 5S audit quarterly and actioning any non-conformance
- Manage the customer relationship with Komatsu Gladstone by attending monthly site meetings with customers and performing routine visits at least quarterly to customers with smaller fleets
- Apply a disciplined approach to expense control by looking for areas we can reduce unnecessary spend and reviewing all expense accounts monthly
- Develop a culture of training and development for the team by mentoring and coaching individuals along with formal development training
- Promote best practice in the warehouse by maintaining stock integrity and picking accuracy by working with the warehouse supervisor to ensure all procedures are followed
- Managing monthly KPI’s for the parts department by reviewing the monthly parts dashboard and having items actioned as required
- Seek opportunities for incremental sales by developing sales plans and marketing strategies
- Actively participate in gaining team engagement for new initiates that are being rolled out for the branch and department

What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in management of a parts department
- Well-developed numeracy, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyse and forecast sales performance to implement business improvement strategies and prepare budgets.
- Appropriate demeanour for communicating with customers at a senior level and providing a professional service.
- Proven experience in inventory control and warehouse systems · Above average level of expertise with both mainframe and personal computers.
- Well-developed time management skills and a demonstrated commitment to a high standard of presentation and accuracy
- Appropriate demeanour for supervising, assisting and training staff to create a positive team atmosphere
- Relevant and up to date knowledge of parts and accessories, the supply chain and logistics of operating a trade distribution system.
