The Opportunity

Komatsu is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our Emerald branch. As a key member of the workshop team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely completion of tasks. Working closely with the Service Supervisor, you will help set up processes and guidelines to ensure the workshop operates smoothly, while providing direction and guidance to apprentices and tradespersons.

This role offers the chance to lead a team of 10 Technicians, overseeing servicing and maintenance for a variety of mobile plant equipment, supporting both construction and mining clients across Central Queensland.

Roster: Monday to Friday - up to 12 hrs per day (overtime available)

*opportunity for field service work outside of standard hours.

Hours: 6am to 2.30pm (standard hours)

Allowances: Leading Hand + Residential + Tool

What we are looking for:

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent)
• HV Electricians with extensive leadership & mobile plant experience will also be considered
• Strong understanding of earthmoving machinery – preferably Komatsu
• Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Office and inventory management software
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations and protocols
• Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and needs in a dynamic work environment.
