The Opportunity: Based out of the Morningside Distributions Centre, the Distribution Centre Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the warehouse function within their nominated section, fostering a culture of safety and overseeing the performance of team members and contributing to the overall success of the warehouse.

Supporting the management team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, Team Leaders are required to ensure an efficient warehouse operation to achieve business targets, compliance, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
  • Coordinate and enable the delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production schedules.
  • Train new Warehouse operatives within area of responsibility in a timely manner.
  • Enable and coordinate inventories in area of responsibility are accurate.
  • Enable and coordinate stock movements are recorded accurately.
  • Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals.
  • Ensure that any computerised or automated systems are accurate and up to date.
  • Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change.
  • Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse. Where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required.
  • Review ways to reduce waste and provide continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in planning future capacity requirements.
  • Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards and carry out risk assessments.
  • Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Ensure hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements.
  • Ensure that vehicles, machinery, and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Maintain high standards of security in the warehouse.
  • Ensure staff comply to health, safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience/skills as a Senior warehouse operator, and/or Warehouse inventory/dispatch person.
  • Demonstrated experience of warehousing Inventory Control and Stock Management.
  • Ability to lead a team demonstrating sound people management skills and coaching.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to always communicate with internal/ external contacts of all levels.
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team environment and leading of cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability with keyboard and general computer skills/knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience with Warehouse management systems.
  • Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Front Line Leadership and or Certificate IV in Logistics and Warehousing or Diploma in Front line management or demonstrated sound experience with a similar role.
  • Valid LF Forklift and/or LO Order Picker license mandatory.
  • Cert4 in Leadership and or Cert4 Logistics and warehousing or Diploma in Front line
