The Opportunity:

Komatsu is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our MARC Project at Callide.

As a key member of the workshop team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely completion of tasks. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will help set up processes and guidelines to ensure the workshop operates smoothly, while providing direction and guidance to tradespersons.

Responsibilities include maintenance, repair, and servicing of PC 4000, PC7000 Excavators and 930E-5 Electric Drive Dump Trucks.  You will support and complete all machine-oriented tasks to enhance and maintain the Komatsu fleet. 

Roster: 5/5/4/5

Annualised Salary: $187K+ PLUS $160 per week (Leading hand allowance) PLUS $200 per week local allowance (Biloela residents only) + Tooling allowance + Super

 What we are looking for:

  • Possess a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mining mobile plant equipment.
  • Familiarity with Komatsu machinery, including the 930E-4 Trucks and Komatsu PC4000/PC7000 Excavators (preferred).
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of managing and motivating teams in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • In-depth technical expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving faults in heavy machinery.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external contractors.
