The Opportunity: Reporting to the Regional Fulfillment Centre Manager the key purpose of the Inventory Controller is to control and maintain accurate inventory records of the Fulfilment Centre, report on the inventory status and take appropriate actions in line with KPI’s.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory records through perpetual cycle counting.
  • Investigate stock variances and adjust records in line with actual stock condition.
  • Report on inventory status and make recommendations for corrections.
  • Report and identify non-compliance with inventory policies.
  • Prepare cycle count schedules and co-ordinate stock take activities.
  • Manage quarantined stock (recalls and quality concern) expedite resolutions.
  • Consolidate small quantities to single bin status to increase empty bin locations.
  • Slotting recommendations in line with ranking results and physical stock condition.
  • Customer quantity claims investigations
  • Investigate claims reference quantity discrepancies.
  • Verify count discrepancies.
  • Maintain database for inventory discrepancies for root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Actively participate in Kaizen program to constantly review storage solutions, inventory accuracy and stock maintenance.

What we are looking for:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is paramount.
  • Stickler for process and procedures.
  • Accurate stock record keeping and maintenance.
  • Methodical and accurate.
  • Good health and physical strength, counting and manoeuvring heavy parts will be part of daily activity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, assertive with leadership skills.
  • Experience and exposure to Warehouse management systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills for both daily communication and staff training.
  • Very assertive and strong follow through.
  • High accuracy level of data processing with sound analytical, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Komatsu IT systems and Microsoft products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Some mathematical, statistical and analytical skills – Experience in (K-Way, Toyota Way, Lean Supply or 6 Sigma).

Qualifications

  • Qualification in logistics, business administration or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory control process or similar role.
  • Understanding of Komatsu Australia’s Reman and Parts Business, other similar parts and supply chain experience will be beneficial.
  • Understanding and experience of the Komatsu Inventory control process will be beneficial.
  • LF and LO licences desired.
