Graduate - Finance Accountant

The Opportunity:

This permanent full-time opportunity for a Graduate – Finance Accountant is based in our Fairfield Head Office and would be initially required on-site 5 days a week.

You will be responsible for completing various general ledger and bank account reconciliations, assisting in managing and performing the company’s treasury related duties and calculating tax compliance liabilities as directed.

 Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing daily bank account reconciliations of 10 + bank accounts
• Liaising with financial institutions on a regular basis with regards to queries arising from bank account reconciliation
• Analysis of various tax (GST, FBT and Income Tax) related general ledger accounts and obtain necessary explanations and declarations from employees with regard transactions.
• Assisting in calculation of GST liabilities to be reviewed by Treasury Manager before lodging the “Business Activity Statement” with ATO on timely basis.
• Ensure all treasury related transactions i.e. FX deals, loan drawdowns etc are accurately entered in SAP system in timely manner to be approved by Treasury Manager.
• Updating and maintaining the weekly and monthly exchange rates in SAP and other software systems after obtaining necessary approval by Treasury Manager.
• Assist Treasury Manager with regards to managing company’s foreign currency exposures by analyzing daily shipping and supplier statements.
• Ensure all FX contracts are approved and returned to banks.
• Assisting in month end reporting tasks instructed by Treasury Manager to ensure the month end reporting is completed on time.

 What we are looking for:

• Proven knowledge and experience with Excel such as VLOOKUPS, Formula’s and Pivot Tables
• You will ideally have exposure to working with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Excellent attention to detail
• Have a pro-active and pragmatic approach to challenges and roadblocks
• Must be proficient with MS Office suite
• Studying or working towards their CPA or CA.
