The Opportunity: The Regional Manager – Northern is accountable for the profitability of the Aftermarket operations within the region, in particular, providing high levels of customer support and service to Komatsu’s key customers across the region, optimizing after-market operating profit for the regional branches to achieve growth and profitability in accordance with the requirements of Komatsu NZ.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Regional activities to align with Komatsu Policy Deployment and strategic initiatives.
- In conjunction with the General Manager- Aftermarket, develop regional strategies to grow the Aftermarket function.
- Manage regional branch after-market service performance to deliver and exceed budget/planned requirements.
- Responsible for full Profit and Loss achievement for all regional service branches.
- Monitor the performance of HS&E to exceed the national targets set by the company.
- Resolve outstanding debts, complaints, disputes and problems with Customers in a timely, mutual manner.
- Use of Data and Komatsu Systems to drive business efficiency and profitability
- Ensure Branch operations including communications, locations, tooling and facilities are enough to support existing and new customers.
- Continuously evaluate effectiveness of performance against all aspects of customer support charter & customer requirements.
- Ensure continued search for new customers, markets and new profit opportunities.
- Maintain a continual drive to improve engagement levels with customers and employees by maintaining a customer centric focus.
- Represent and promote the company with customers, governmental agencies, suppliers, and the general public in a professional manner.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Policies and Procedures
- Ensure the adequacy of instructions, procedures and facilities for economical and efficient operation.
- Prepare capital expenditure proposals as necessary.
- Ensure all personnel within the region have;
- Regular success check ins ensuring clear performance objectives are set.
- Correct and accurate position descriptions
- Training and development to meet specific technical and non-technical competencies and employees are adequately trained to meet Company and customer requirements.

What we are looking for:
- Strategic development and implementation capability.
- Experience with process improvement and change management.
- Service and contracts experience in an OEM environment are essential.
- Experience in project management, estimation, and scheduling.
- High level of relationship skills across all levels of company and customer.
- Knowledge in Earth moving equipment maintenance.
- Commercial knowledge with financial analysis understanding.
