Patient Suites Model: 

KnG Healthcare’s Patient Suites is specifically tailored to accommodate patients who require healthcare services outside of the standard hospital environment. These patients continue to require health care in a clinically supported accommodation environment.

Our model endeavours to create a restorative and healing environment for patients, prioritising their well-being and continuing their healthcare while simultaneously alleviating the burden on hospital resources.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Nurse Unit Manager, your role will include:

  • Providing professional and operational leadership and direction for the service and staff
  • Provide leadership and support to the clinical team by ensuring staff have professional development and educational opportunities, clinical supervision and mentoring.
  • Ensure that the unit is adequately and appropriately resourced (human resources, materials and financial resources.)
  • Accountability and responsibility for ensuring practice is contemporary, evidence based and continually monitoring and evaluating service delivery in relation to the service’s performance indicators, clinical governance and relevant quality and safety standards.
  • Responsible for the facilitation and provision of quality and cost-effective services which are consistent with contemporary standards and best practice.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with relevant stakeholders to ensure safety and promote excellence and service improvement.
  • Provide effective human resources management.
  • Assumes individual accountability to meet professional practice standards relevant to the position.
  • Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the understanding, application, analysis and interpretation of professional clinical and management knowledge and experience to provide sound advice and direction.
  • Develop and implement management support for change processes, risk management practices and service improvement activities.
  • Is responsible for the utilisation of data systems and analysis to inform service improvement opportunities.

Staffing responsibilities

  • The NUM position directly supervises the nursing workforce and is responsible for the clinical care provided. The position will also provide leadership, direction and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure excellence of clinical care.

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Post graduate qualification in a relevant specialty.
  • Advanced level of clinical management and professional practice.
  • Experience in leadership roles and leading clinical teams.
  • Demonstrated management of quality, safety and risk management framwork.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound computer software and database entry skills.

Essential Documentation/Declarations:

To be considered for this position, you must provide:

  • Registered Nurse qualifications and AHPRA registration.
  • Police Check with no disclosable offences, ensuring suitability for employment.
  • Australian Workers Rights documentation, affirming eligibility for employment in Australia.
  • Compliance with Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Certification, prioritising patient and staff safety.
