With a healthy pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Advisor to join our team. The role will be part of the project management team and help embed a safety culture across our sites. You will focus on the coordination and administration of our safety processes and ensure compliance to our safety and client requirements. 

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement project-specific safety management plans that align with client requirements
  • Facilitate High Risk workshops with the project management team
  • Provide daily guidance and direction onsite to ensure safety issues are appropriately assessed and risks are mitigated
  • Monitor compliance with the safety standards, systems and procedures
  • Ensure both personnel and plant/equipment are appropriately inducted
  • Assist the site team with prestart briefings, training and toolbox meetings
  • Complete site inspections, reporting on the findings and following up on the implementation of corrective actions
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Management of incident reporting, investigations and recommendations
  • Assist with injury management processes and implementing Return to Work plans
  • Ensure all required documentation, including permits, are up to date in our Hammertech system
  • Review of subcontractor safety documentation, ensuring compliance under statutory guidelines

About you:

  • A passion for the construction industry and creating safe workplaces
  • 5 + years construction site-based experience in a safety-focused role
  • Experience in electrical/services aspects of construction (desirable)
  • Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills including consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
  • Hammertech experience (desirable)
  • Driver’s license
  • A strong team focus
