We’re a team of high performing professionals obsessed with innovation and excellence in construction. Our work spans the commercial, education, industrial, and residential sectors.

With a healthy pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced and talented Design Manger to join our team. You will bring extensive design delivery experience in both new builds and fit outs across Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction projects across all design disciplines. In this role, you will work closely with the construction and business development teams to achieve the best outcomes for our projects, whilst optimising value and minimising risk.

What you'll do:

  • Engage in open communication and regular reporting with project stakeholders
  • Advise project stakeholders of project risks and resolutions, scope gaps, and Value Management opportunities through regular design reviews
  • Ensure risks identified in Design Reviews are actioned and closed out
  • Coordinate File Structures and Aconex systems with team members prior to project commencement
  • Issue the Design Information Management Procedures to all relevant participants at project set up and ensure procedures are followed
  • Assist the Estimating and Business Development teams with concept design cost planning and the tender/submission/ECI phase
  • Prepare, maintain, and monitor Design Programme and Design Budgets for submissions in accordance with the contract program
  • Manage and chair design meetings and workshops with the project team
  • Participate in and provide advice on buildability, safety, programming, staging and cost implications
  • Identify and manage engagement of design consultants
  • Prepare and manage Consultant Agreements, project contact lists, and Building Permit Tracking Schedules
  • Continuous improvement of design approaches, systems, procedures and documentation

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management and/or Architecture
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 environment
  • Extensive design experience with both large new builds and fit outs
  • Sound understanding of design principles and relevant compliance codes in construction
  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills
  • Exposure with navigating SharePoint and Aconex
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • A strong team focus

How you'll benefit:

  • 5-day work week (exception of Site Managers/Supervisors who work 10 days in 14, with every other Saturday off)
  • Investment in training with the aim to have the best trained workforce in the industry
  • Free health assessments for all staff
  • Paid parental leave for both primary and secondary care givers
  • Fast-tracked career development opportunities and support our staff through mentoring, workshops and retreats
  • Industry-leading internal communication channels to break down silos across sites, allowing staff to share ideas, lessons learnt and other resources.
