We are seeking an experienced Risk and Assurance Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and embedding a comprehensive risk management system that integrates clinical, operational, and strategic risks across the organization.
About the Role:
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Juniper’s risk management framework. The role ensures risk awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization while aligning with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Juniper’s strategic objectives.
The Risk and Assurance Manager will work closely with senior leaders, governance committees, and operational teams to establish a proactive and integrated approach to risk management, incident reporting, and internal audit processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management framework, ensuring alignment with Juniper’s Risk Appetite Statement and best practices.
- Develop and implement structured risk assessment, treatment, and monitoring processes across clinical, operational, and corporate functions.
- Oversee and continuously improve Juniper’s incident management system, ensuring timely reporting, investigation, and tracking of incidents, including those with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal audit activities, liaising with external audit partners to ensure risk-based audit planning, timely reporting, and corrective action tracking.
- Develop and maintain business continuity planning processes, ensuring the organization is prepared for risk events and disruptions.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness, continuous improvement, and compliance across the organisation through training, engagement, and leadership.
- Develop risk dashboards and key performance indicators to provide insights on enterprise-wide risks and incident trends to executive leadership and the board.
- Work closely with governance, compliance, clinical, finance, and operational teams to ensure a consistent approach to risk management across all areas.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise in risk management and strong leadership capabilities. You will have:
- A tertiary qualification in business, human services, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, or assurance roles.
- Professional qualification in risk management (desirable).
- Strong understanding of risk, governance, assurance, and incident management practices in a highly regulated industry (aged care, healthcare, or similar preferred).
- Experience in developing and embedding risk management frameworks within a complex organization.
- Ability to lead and manage a small team, including coaching, supervision, and performance management.
- Experience in developing risk dashboards, performance metrics, and business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision-making.
- High attention to detail with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present risk data effectively.
