About the role: 

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience, learn and develop your skills and knowledge on the job. As a Network Planning Engineer (Electricity Grid), your role will involve short to long-term power system planning and development of Jemena’s electricity network to deliver safe, reliable, affordable energy and sustainable performance for all customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform power system assessment, network development options and scope preparation for major customer connection projects.
  • Strategic area planning using probabilistic planning, risk and cost-benefit economic evaluation assessments and report writing and presentations.
  • Perform power system feasibility study assessments.
  • Prepare Regulatory Investment Tests (RIT-D) and contribute to the Distribution Annual Planning Report and Transmission Connection Planning Report preparation.
  • Technical assessment of load and embedded generation connection projects. 

A little About You:

  • Experience in the electrical industry with Asset Management experience.
  • Proficiency in using electricity network power system software such as PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework, its obligations and instruments (such as NER, EDCoP, Australian Standards).
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or higher in Electrical Engineering (power system discipline is desirable).
