Overview of our role
Are you passionate about building secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions? We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to help shape and maintain our modern Kubernetes infrastructure, supporting our teams in delivering innovative applications with confidence.
In this role, you’ll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies like AWS EKS, Rancher, GitLab, StackState, Grafana, ArgoCD, External Secrets Operator, Kyverno, and Terraform. Your expertise will ensure seamless operations, automation, and observability while also strengthening disaster recovery processes.
More than just maintaining infrastructure, you’ll be a key collaborator—working alongside development teams to empower innovation, enhance platform resilience, and drive Kubernetes adoption across the organisation. A little about you
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent experience, with a passion for building scalable and secure platforms.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in production, using AWS EKS, Rancher, or similar.
- Strong focus on security best practices, including RBAC, network policies, TLS, and secrets management.
- Experience integrating observability and monitoring tools like Grafana, StackState, or AWS CloudWatch to enhance performance.
- Proficient in automating deployments with GitOps tools like ArgoCD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- A collaborative mindset, working closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to create seamless and resilient platforms.
Qualifications / certifications & Skills
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals, with a focus on building resilient and scalable platforms.
- Experience working with Amazon EKS, including managed node groups and seamless integration with AWS services.
- Familiarity with Rancher for cluster management, multi-cluster orchestration, and custom deployments.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate and streamline processes.
- Passion for continuous improvement, applying CI/CD best practices in GitLab to support smooth and reliable deployments.
- Awareness of data security and compliance, ensuring governance and best practices are embedded within Jemena’s platform.
