Overview of our role

Work with cutting-edge technologies and frameworks and contribute to the goals of the Digital Market Platforms Product Line, as part of the Customer Solutions team.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop and support Customer Experience Products that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Working with cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, you’ll help architect, develop, and maintain software solutions using tools like React, Next.js, AWS services, and CI/CD pipelines. As a Senior Software Engineer, your expertise will ensure systems are robust, scalable, and support seamless operations of Customer Experience Products, driving positive business outcomes.

Your role will enhance operational efficiency across Jemena’s Gas and Electricity distribution markets, helping deliver simple, seamless experiences for our customers. 

A little about you

  • Lead system implementation and support efforts, designing and developing new and existing applications end-to-end.
  • Bring innovative ideas and solutions with a strong focus on UX, enhancing customer experience through digital projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across diverse business areas to deliver projects, leveraging Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support to end users, ensuring reliable performance in a commercial framework.
  • Conduct systems analysis, design, programming, and risk assessments, while liaising with internal and external technical teams.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and solutions, aligning with Jemena's architecture principles and industry best practices.

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or IT, and experience in the utilities industry.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, with a preference for Agile practices.
  • Extensive experience in AWS app development and AWS services (Pinpoint, Lambda, S3, EC2, CloudFormation) to design, develop, and deploy scalable AWS-based solutions.
  • Proficiency in web application development with technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript (React, Next.js, Angular, NodeJS), MS .NET, C#, Web Services, HTML, XML, and CSS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and automated deployment tools, as well as MS SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and other RDBMS technologies.
  • Familiarity with Unix, Linux, Windows platforms, API development, and cloud-based hosting services.
  • Experience with Test Automation and AWS certification(s) is a plus.
