About the role:
The Injury Management Business Partner is responsible for injury management associated with work related and non-work-related cases within Jemena Group.
Working closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders, the Injury Management Specialist is engaging in claim management of the workers’ comp claims lodged by the Group’s employees, nationally, in accordance with relevant state legislation.
The position is also responsible for providing advice and recommendation to line managers and employees on the injury management of both work related and non-work related cases, as well as general information of workers’ compensation process, regarding liability, employer responsibilities and obligations under relevant state legislation, particularly in relation to return to work obligation. The position is ensuring ongoing liaising / communication with all stakeholders achieving early intervention and proactive claims management in collaboration with authorized agent / Workcover authorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Injury management and return to work
- Coordinate and implement Jemena Group workplace injury management policies, procedures and programs based on Early Intervention Injury Management culture and practices
- Facilitate return to work of injured employees from compensable or personal injuries
- Utilise sound case management principles to assist Jemena Group and the injured employee meet their obligations within the workers compensation claims process. This occurs side-by-side to Injury Management & Claims Management for work-related injuries
About you:
- Substantial experience in a claims management/ injury management role within a large organisation multi state employer or insurer
- Sound understanding of case management principles as applied to injury and workers compensation claims management (ie. collaborate, assess, plan, facilitate, advocate and monitor progress towards an agreed goal)
- Tertiary qualification in an Allied Health / Medical related discipline or relevant industry experience
- Well-developed research, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Sound business acumen with specific regard to implementing cost effective health and injury management solutions and working with an appreciation of competing business priorities.
- Demonstrated capacity to utilise various technology and IT applications
This is an 18-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
