DERMS (Distributed Energy Resources Management Systems) Engineer

About the role: 

The DERMS Engineer will Support the registration, validation, and testing of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) onto Jemena DERMS systems. The Engineer will ensure connections fit the requirements of the connection process and will participate within the customer connections workflow taking ownership of connections processing onto the Jemena DERMS. The Engineer will drive the continuous improvement of DER processes and systems. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting DERMS operational design, configuration, testing, commissioning, administration and support
  • Deliver the registration, validation, and testing of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) onto Jemena DERMS systems
  • Ensure connections fit the requirements of the connection process, and will participate within the customer connections workflow taking ownership of connections processing onto the Jemena DERMS

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Electrical / Control System
  • Distribution Electricity industry background is preferred, in a hands-on OT role
  • AMDS/DERMS background preferred
  • Asset connection/commissioning onto DERMS, SCADA or AMI
  • Strong understanding of electricity distribution network topology and the configuration management of SCADA, AMI and DERMS
  • Strong understanding of the Common Smart Inverter Profile (CSIP-Aus)
  • Excellent knowledge of ADMS design, configuration and integration
  • Configuration management of an OT system
  • Critical infrastructure and application support

Experience in client facing roles including project and ability to support 24 hour operations

  • Excellent problem solving, fault finding and analytical skills.
  • Influential and capable of managing expectations of the system and capabilities by providing a clear understanding of the status, capabilities, constraints and path to value of the SCADA
  • Highly collaborative with a focus on continuous improvement
