Overview of our role

At Jemena, we’re looking for a Principal Business Consultant Analyst who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and creating positive change. In this role, you’ll build strong relationships between our Digital and business teams, using your expertise to guide solutions that enhance processes, improve experiences, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

You’ll partner closely with stakeholders, ensuring business needs are understood and solutions are designed with care. With a focus on people, customer journeys, and transformation, you’ll help shape strategic decisions and influence digital-led improvements that make a real difference. Your ability to bring teams together, navigate priorities with empathy, and champion inclusive solutions will be key to your success.

A little about you

  • experience working in a Consulting capacity or for a consultancy company advantageous
  • ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, communicate complex ideas with clarity, and guide decision-making in a supportive and solutions-focused way. Work closely with solution managers, and architects to align business needs with strategic goals
  • balanced approach to strategy and execution, combining long-term planning with hands-on collaboration to understand and shape business needs
  • extensive experience leading business analysis across large-scale projects and programs, with a people-first mindset and a deep understanding of the energy/utilities sector (preferred). Ability to create idea briefs, understand user behavior, and apply core business analysis skills to deliver meaningful outcomes
  • proactively lead discovery and business analysis activities, working closely with teams to gather and synthesise insights, align business needs with strategic goals, and incorporate customer feedback to create real impact. Coach BAs on projects and delivery, fostering growth and capability within the team
  • facilitate workshops and present insights confidently, engaging audiences up to General Manager (GM) and occasionally Executive General Manager (EGM) levels to drive informed decision-making
  • strong analytical skills, with a keen ability to assess complex problems, uncover insights, and contribute to business transformation.

Qualifications / certifications & Skills

  • relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Commerce, Project Management, or a related field, combined with in-depth and extensive experience in Business Analysis, bringing both expertise and a growth mindset
  • understanding of how different parts of a business connect, with experience in one or more of the following areas: customer innovation, utility metering and revenue, asset management, and construction
  • experience using collaborative tools and techniques for key Business Analysis functions, including process mapping, requirements gathering, and benefits tracking, to support effective decision-making
  • strong foundation in Service Design tools and techniques, such as market research, business model canvas, and test-and-learn approaches (e.g., innovation, prototyping), ensuring customer-focused and practical solutions.
