THE ROLE
JD Sports is on the lookout for an experienced Sports Fashion Buyer to play a pivotal role within you’re allocated department. As a Buyer, you will liaise with and build strong relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders, ensuring the right assortments are bought and ranged for our consumers.
As a JD Sports Footwear Buyer, it is paramount that you have extensive knowledge in international sports fashion products and are in tune with the marketplace. You must also possess strong analytical and numerical skills and will willingly share your knowledge with your wider team, training and developing them to deliver you Department’s Sales Plan.
Reporting into the Senior Footwear Buyer, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Analyse weekly/monthly/quarterly sales and trend to formulate quarterly Sales Plans
- Manage budgets and financially plan future seasons
- Attend all Brand appointments and events
- Maintain and develop all Brand relationships
- Confidently negotiate with Brands
- Brief, build, and product develop exclusive assortments with selected Brand partners
- Be constantly aware of new Brands and trends along with opportunities to diversify the Department to drive sales
- Present ranges for sign off with the GM of Buying
- Actioning in-season Markdowns and proactively managing the future Orderbook
- Manage, mentor, and develop Assistant Buyers
WHO YOU ARE
- Experience Buying specifically in Footwear
- Merchandising/Financial Planning experience essential
- Experience in reporting analysis to identify trends
- Sound knowledge of current fashion sportswear trends
- Existing knowledge of JD Brand partners & store base/ANZ website
- Ability to effectively build relationships with stakeholders across all levels
- Negotiating and Influencing skills is a must
- Experience training, developing and mentoring a team
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and a high attention to detail
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically across PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Valid drivers license is required to attend brand appointments and store visits
