THE ROLE

JD Sports is on the lookout for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team! The Senior Financial Accountant will focus on the implementation and on-going management of financial reporting, analysing financial data and general accounting for month end processing.

This is a hands-on position well suited to an individual who understands the importance of delivering to a tight timeframe without compromising on quality or accuracy of work.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for but not limited to: 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the month end processing including preparation of journals and reconciliations
  • Preparing and analysing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports as required
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
  • Assisting with preparation and submission of month end reports for APAC region
  • Collaborating with accounts payable to ensure correct invoice allocation and costings
  • Comply with Australian Accounting standards
  • Liaise and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Various ad hoc reporting from time to time
  • Work collaboratively to continuously improve processes within the finance function

WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar Financial Accountant position within like industry
  • Bachelor of Accounting and Finance or similar
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent leadership skills and stakeholder management 
  • High attention to detail
