THE ROLE
JD Sports is on the lookout for a passionate Branch Merchandiser to ensure key stores have the right stock allocated at the right time. By using data-driven insights, the Branch Merchandisers will optimise product distribution, drive sales performance, and maximise profitability.
Reporting into the General Manager of Merchandise Planning, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Sales Performance:
- Monitor and analyse branch-level sales performance to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Conduct detailed analysis of sales data for top turnover stores to identify trends, bestsellers, and underperforming lines
- Partner actionable insights to the store teams for review
- Provide actionable insights to the central merchandising and buying teams to refine stock strategies.
Stock Management
- Assess the needs of each store, ensuring that stock levels align with the store's grading, size, and local customer preferences
- Analyse sales data, stock levels, and customer demand patterns to inform timely stock replenishments and allocations
- Monitor replenishment cycles, reacting quickly to stockouts or overstock situations to maintain an optimal balance
- Coordinate stock transfers between branches to balance supply and demand effectively
Reporting & Insights:
- Generate regular performance reports for top turnover stores, highlighting key metrics such as sales, stock availability, and replenishment effectiveness
- Use these insights to drive continuous improvement in merchandising practices and feed back to the central merchandising team where required
Market Awareness
- Stay informed on competitor activity, consumer trends, and local market dynamics
- Assess the performance of new product launches and seasonal lines, providing data-driven feedback to the central team
Forecasting & Planning
- Contribute to the development of sales forecasts and branch plans. Use historical data, customer trends, and sales forecasts to plan and optimize stock levels for each location
- Collaborate with the buying and planning teams to forecast sales and create tailored stock plans for each store
- Anticipate demand shifts based on historical data, promotions, and external market trends
Collaboration with Stakeholders
- Act as a key liaison between the central merchandising team and top turnover stores, ensuring priorities are communicated and executed effectively
WHO YOU ARE
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a like position within Merchandise
- Previous experience working within Retail in a Management position
- Advanced excel, word and PowerPoint skills
- Experience working with inventory management
- Understanding of sales & profit growth
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
